1.    “I have cancer” is the best excuse in the world for getting out of things you don’t want to do
2.    I got lots of time off from work
3.    I had more time with family
4.    I’ve had time to think
5.    I’ve had time to write
6.    I found out how many people really care for me.
7.    Facing my biggest fears makes other fears less scary
8.    My spiritual awareness has increased
9.    I appreciate what I previously took for granted
10.    I am more aware of my mortality, therefore more aware of life
I know cancer is not a rose garden. The aches and pains, worry, and financial stress are very real—and more difficult some for some of us than others. My stage 1 cancer is different from my friend's stage 4 . But from my perspective, on balance, my quality of life is higher now than before I was diagnosed. I’m happier. Crazy? What do you think?
